Fruity, smooth, round, crisp acidity, medium tannin, well balanced.
MAIN: Tafelspitz with beef, potato dumpling and braised red cabbage, seasonal vegetable
Austrian Wine: Markowitsch, Weingut, Deuxième 2017
Zweigelt 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 50%
The ripe, soft tannins support a firm body, which lends this red a good depth and velvety mouthfeel

Nicole Takeda is a wine educator, consultant, and sommelier who is the director of her own wine school, Wine Swirler Education. While studying and working in Bordeaux, she attained the WSET Diploma and an MBA in Wine Marketing and Management. The Wine Scholar Guild recently recognized her as a French, Italian, and Spanish wine specialist. This Latvian-Canadian loves a good Bordeaux vintage, but the wines of Rioja and the Loire Valley are the ones that have captured her heart.
